In spite of the ever-changing, revolving door of philosophies on food, nutrition, health, and well-being, one thing always remains: Eating well is dependent on cooking well. In this weekend introduction to cooking basics, discover how to cook well with Omega’s executive chef—Robert Turner.

Explore everything from sautéing to grilling to roasting in a relaxed, fun-filled atmosphere. We might even make crème brûlée! Conquer your fears of cooking and become more confident and less reliant on recipes while learning about dietary options and creative ways to prepare delicious, healthy (and maybe some “not so healthy”) meals at home.

Throughout this cooking basics weekend, Turner weaves classroom demonstration, lecture, and conversation as we explore seasonal dishes from classic to contemporary, and from rustic to sumptuous. We also examine ways we can deepen our awareness of food and how it affects our daily life and the world around us.

This workshop is intended to help even the most amateur chef navigate the often overwhelming world of food, cooking, and personal nutrition.

Tiered Pricing

At Omega, we believe that the benefits of a holistic education should be available to everyone. We also recognize that what is affordable for some will not be for all. We are now offering Tiered Pricing* on select programs to help meet the varying financial needs of our community.

On programs where Tiered Pricing is available, select the price that is appropriate for you. This program works on an honor system. Keep in mind that the highest price reflects the cost of the workshop and allows Omega to sustain itself, whereas the lower prices cover only a portion of those costs.

Tier 1:$330 (Register as you normally would for this pricing.) This is the true cost of your workshop. Choosing this price helps Omega continue to retain world-class teachers and sustain classroom facilities.

Tier 2:$255 (Enter TIER 2 in the Promotional Code Box when you register.) This is our partially subsidized price for those with temporary or minor financial need.

Tier 3:$180 (Enter TIER 3 in the Promotional Code Box when you register.) This is our heavily subsidized price for those in need of deeper financial assistance.

Robert Turner

Robert Turner, executive chef and general manager of Omega FoodWorks, has been teaching cooking workshops at Omega for seven years. An honors graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Turner is author of the monthly recipe in the eOmega News.
