Advanced yoga practitioners and yoga teachers interested in delving into the scientific mechanics of yoga are invited to this workshop with board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Bandha Yoga founder, Ray Long.
This intensive, interactive workshop covers anatomy, physiology, and therapeutics as they apply to yoga. Each day is comprised of multimedia presentations, including 3-D illustrations, radiological images, and surgical videos, combined with applications in guided individual asana and pranayama practice.
Joining modern Western science with the ancient art of hatha yoga, we learn about the anatomy and physiology of the major joints; explore muscle physiology with practical applications of stretching techniques; investigate the anatomy and physiology of breathing as it applies to yoga; find out how to analyze poses from a scientific perspective; and identify and manage common pathological conditions affecting the major joints.
