Military women and women veterans experience enormous challenges. Significant combat stress and trauma can cause anxiety, depression, homelessness, unemployment, and substance abuse. The impact of military sexual trauma runs deep and has lasting effects on the mind, body, and spirit.
This women-only retreat for the military-veteran community (active duty, reserve, guard, and all branches of the uniformed services) builds a safe and healing environment to explore facing and releasing traumatic stress and increasing resilience.
Led by three experienced healers and veterans advocates—Susan Lynch, Karen Soltes, and Andrea Lucie—as well as guest teachers, we explore a variety of healing modalities, including group dialogue, meditation, yoga, journaling, and empowerment skill-building training, to nurture our mind, body, and spirit in the face of past and present trauma. We return home refreshed and with tools to continue our healing journey.
This program is underwritten and open to all active or inactive duty military women and women veterans.
This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which is dedicated to ensuring that injured service members, veterans and their families thrive long after they return home. For more information about the Bob Woodruff Foundation visit bobwoodrufffoundation.org.
