| The Dance of Tennis Jena Marcovicci, Ph.D. Dancing is normally done on a dance floor. But now you can dance on a tennis court with your partner on the other side of the net. From his extensive background in professional tennis, athletics, and movement techniques, Jena Marcovicci has designed a fun workshop for beginners and advanced players alike that transforms your opponent into a dance partner, with each stroke a rhythmic response. Practicing strokes to all kinds of music, from Bach to Bob Marley, we find the game itself becomes a celebration of life. We begin with warm-up exercises, including Ashtanga Yoga, tai chi, creative dance, and the Alexander Technique. By blending Marcovicci's seven-step process with both Eastern and Western philosophies—from meditation and breathing techniques to Gestalt psychology, psychosynthesis, neurolinguistic programming, and visualization—we discover a new way to play tennis. Please note: Limited enrollment; register early. Bring a racket. CE credit available. |
