The Timeless Life (A01)
Margot Anand When we can enter into a situation with a relaxed body, an open heart, and a peaceful mind, we are ready for bliss, which is timeless. Through lecture and experiential exercises we explore and recognize the moments in our life that have "aged" us. We examine how we sabotage our vitality by having feelings of helplessness, hanging onto old wounds, feeling we are not good enough, and being overwhelmed by life. To move beyond these "old" places, we need to jump into the unknown, take chances, and risk living "outside the box" so we can receive deep inner guidance and live our truth. This intensive is of particular interest for mature women as we examine the notions of "feeling sexy," loving ourselves, and being a great lover at any age. |
Writing From the Heart: Tapping the Power of Your Inner Voice (A02)
Nancy Slonim Aronie In this crazy topsy-turvy world that worships youth, stories by your older and wiser self make powerful and delicious reading. This workshop is about honoring your own voice, writing in your own rhythm and language, and writing your own story. Join Nancy Slonim Aronie, a warm, funny, inspirational, and distinguished writer and commentator for NPR's All Things Considered, to write like you really are (finally), to be completely honest, and to reclaim your original voice. Aronie says, "I can't teach writing (nobody can), but I can make a safe place and when people are safe they take enormous risks. The writing gets more powerful, the heart goes deeper, and the words flow faster." |
Finding Your Personal North Star (A03)
Martha Beck, Ph.D.For centuries, explorers have depended on the North Star when there were no other landmarks in sight. Each of us possesses an unalterable North Star that guides our ideal life. As we age it's easy to get off course, and even harder to get back! Martha Beck can help. A monthly columnist for O magazine and author of five books, including Finding Your Own North Star and The Joy Diet, Beck has helped thousands of people clean out their emotional attics and create fulfilling, amazing lives. In this intensive she teaches you how to access your essential self, find out who you really are, and help you take a stand for the unique contribution you alone bring to the world. The Ageless & The Ageful: The Soul's Journey & The World's Future (A04)
Thelma Jean Goodrich, Ph.D., Thomas R. ColeWe live with an inescapable paradox; we are infused with limitless desires, feelings, ideas, and aspirations; and we live in limited, vulnerable bodies that decay and die. In the 21st century, the gift of longevity means that we have more years to become fully human, more connected to the transcendent, and more devoted to those who will live on after we are gone. How do time-bound creatures enter the realm of timelessness? How do aging individuals experience the ageless dimension of their souls? How does a person shape his or her life's legacy and prepare for the experience of dying? How can we become more loving and more compassionate as we grow older? How can we contribute to a future that we will never see? With personal writing, guided meditation, music, and poetry, this experiential workshop helps us address these questions in the context of our own lives. CE credit available. |
The Genius of Flexibility: A New Discovery About Being Flexible (A05)
Bob CooleyThis intensive presents a groundbreaking discovery, a new way to stretch that gives you the results that you have always expected from stretching. This discovery shatters the false myth that muscles become more flexible simply by stretching them. Instead you must contract a muscle continuously while stretching it. Robert Cooley discovered this extraordinary new technique while attempting to rehabilitate himself after being struck by an automobile traveling more than 70 mph. Contracting muscles while lengthening them is called Resistance Flexibility and Strength Training. It offers immediate, cumulative, and permanent increases in flexibility; takes the pain out of stretching; and prevents you from over-stretching. Sixteen unique stretches produce concomitant physiological and psychological benefits. CE credit available. |
Reawaken Yoga in Midlife: The Joy is in the Journey (A06)
Lilias FolanThis intensive is the perfect time for everyone in midlife looking for practical, healthy ways to incorporate the benefits of yoga into their lives. Lilias Folan says, "Yoga gets better with age; age gets better with yoga." Midlife is the ideal time to restore health and vitality, and to soften the impact of the aging process. We greet the day (weather permitting) outdoors, gathering in a sacred circle to sing, dance, and wake up our chakras with meditation and movement to raise the sun and light in our lives. Then we continue our practice indoors, learning painless ways to create and restore flexibility and strength with the three R's of stretching (resist, relax, restretch), key asanas (poses), breathing, and guided relaxations. All sizes and shapes welcome. No yoga experience necessary. CE credit available. |
Turning on Your Inner Light: Receiving a Spiritual Facelift (A07)
Debbie FordEvery time we suppress our emotions and our dreams, every time we shut down parts of ourselves, we age. It's like living in a magnificent castle where we gradually turn off the lights in our many rooms, close the doors, walk away, and eventually forget that we have access to all of that splendor. We find ourselves existing in a cramped, dark bedroom, with no room to breathe. In other words, we deny many vital parts of who we really are, eventually finding ourselves disconnected from our spiritual core. What is it that will allow us to re-inhabit the grandeur of our lives, to regain access to every room in our castle? What will help us come fully alive again? In this intensive Debbie Ford guides us in how to embrace the whole of who we are as a path to rebirth and new growth. CE credit available. |
Couplehood as a Spiritual Path (A08)
Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD, Harville Hendrix, PhDThis workshop, based on the classic best-seller, Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples, has helped hundreds of thousands of couples around the world experience the profound connection that heals childhood and relational wounds, activates undeveloped potential, and spurs spiritual growth. Through lectures, demonstrations, and experiential processes we learn how to take our relationship to deeper levels of connection and wholeness, and explore its spiritual dimension. Viewing couplehood as a spiritual path and using dialogue as a spiritual practice, we learn and experience how the connection that heals our personal relationship also reconnects us to the transcendent. CE credit available. |
Tai Chi Easy® (A09)
Roger Jahnke, OMDIn the Chinese language, tai chi means the "balance and harmony" of natural forces within ourselves and our world. Tai chi also means "supreme ultimate," pointing to the awesome nature of all life and our own lives within the universe. Tai chi is a well-known form of the ancient self-healing art known as qigong. Qigong means to cultivate (gong) healing life energies and resources (qi). Tai Chi Easy® is a mind-body practice anyone can learn. It combines exercise and meditation to activate self-healing properties ancient Chinese texts call the "healer within" and the "elixir of life." In ancient times, and still today, qigong and tai chi are revered as one of the most powerful self-healing and self-empowerment arts ever developed. "The most profound medicine for body, mind, and spirit is produced in the human body for free," Jahnke says. CE credit available. |
The Dance of Tennis (A10)
Jena Marcovicci, Ph.D.Dancing is normally done on a dance floor. But now you can dance on a tennis court with your partner on the other side of the net. From his extensive background in professional tennis, athletics, and movement techniques, Jena Marcovicci has designed a fun workshop for beginners and advanced players alike that transforms your opponent into a dance partner, with each stroke a rhythmic response. Practicing strokes to all kinds of music, from Bach to Bob Marley, we find the game itself becomes a celebration of life. We begin with warm-up exercises, including Ashtanga Yoga, tai chi, creative dance, and the Alexander Technique. By blending Marcovicci's seven-step process with both Eastern and Western philosophies—from meditation and breathing techniques to Gestalt psychology, psychosynthesis, neurolinguistic programming, and visualization—we discover a new way to play tennis. Please note: Limited enrollment; register early. Bring a racket. CE credit available. |
Divine Intuition: Your Guide to Creating a Life You Love (A11)
Lynn Robinson, MEdHow would you like to have a constant and reliably accurate source of wisdom to guide your life? An inner sage that gives you unfailing direction towards your hopes and dreams? There's good news. You already have it. It's part of your birthright, your instructions from the universe. "It" is intuition, and when you learn how it works and how to access it, you will be changed forever. Join Divine Intuition and Compass of the Soul author Lynn Robinson at this daylong intensive devoted to helping you create the kind of life you've always wanted. Through lecture, group discussion, and experiential exercises, we develop our intuitive gift and practice putting it to use as we discover that living an intuitive life means looking within for answers and living life with courage, faith, patience, and trust. CE credit available. |
Day of Enlightenment (A12)
Brian Weiss, MD, James Van Praagh Spend a day with two world-renowned experts on life before birth and after death. Transforming Society Through Conscious Loving
Images of social transformation tend to include ending poverty, eradicating disease, and alleviating human suffering. Little attention is given to the cause of these social ills as a failure of love in marriage and parenting. It is also little known that couples who create conscious partnerships grounded in mature love become better citizens and social activists and rear healthy children, thus transforming society at its core. This keynote argues that the fulcrum of social transformation is healthy couplehood and healthy children, and that only by resolving the crises of love in the personal will society ever be fully and permanently transformed.

Mindful Aging: Coming to Our Senses as Individuals & as a Species
We are all brief sojourners on this planet, no matter how old we get to be. How can we make the best use of our time here to optimize our own well-being across the lifespan, in the face of aging, stress, pain, and illness, and also contribute to the health of our endangered planet and the health of our self-endangered species? Jon Kabat-Zinn is one of the nation's foremost authorities on mindfulness, meditation, and healing and their medical and societal applications. In this keynote he suggests that it is only through the cultivation of intimacy with the nature of our own mind that we will be able to live lives of satisfaction, meaning, and connectedness, and thus age well. We can also contribute to restoring wisdom and balance and wakefulness to a world in which the human mind unexamined, "filled with desire and fastened to a dying animal," in William Butler Yeats' words, has managed to become the auto-immune disease of the planet.

She challenges you to think about your own life, shape your own legacy, and find your part in building the foundation for tomorrow. |
1:30pm - 3:00pm Workshops (choose one) |
SkyDancing Tantra: The Key to Health & Vitality (B1A)
Margot Anand Few people realize that sexual bliss carries an energy that acts like an aphrodisiac on the cells of the body and rejuvenates them. And yet, conscious sexual loving has the capacity to take you to the root of your creativity, rejuvenate your cells, brighten your spirit, and make you feel ageless and empowered. Through lecture and experiential exercises, Margot Anand's SkyDancing Tantra techniques show you that love can be a deep meditation that gives you the feeling of dancing in the sky, of being light and ageless—both in and out of bed. There is no age in the ecstatic world. There is an additional offering of this workshop. See session C4A. |
Writing From the Heart: Tapping the Power of Your Inner Voice (B1B)
Nancy Slonim Aronie In this crazy topsy-turvy world that worships youth, stories by your older and wiser self make powerful and delicious reading. This workshop is about honoring your own voice, writing in your own rhythm and language, and writing your own story. Come write the stuff that has happened over your many years, tapping into that very "young," very innocent heart of yours. There are additional offerings of this workshop. See sessions C3A and C4B. |
The Ageless & the Ageful: The Soul's Journey & the World's Future (B1C)
Thelma Jean Goodrich, Ph.D., Thomas R. ColeWe live with an inescapable paradox: we are infused with limitless desires, feelings, ideas, and aspirations; and we live in limited, vulnerable bodies that decay and die. In the 21st century, the gift of longevity means that we have more years to become fully human, more connected to the transcendent, and more devoted to those who will live on after we are gone. With personal writing, guided meditation, music, and poetry, this experiential workshop helps us explore these opportunities in the context of our own lives. There are additional offerings of this workshop. See sessions C3C and C4D. CE credit available. |
Reclaiming Your Sexiness, Embracing Your Desirable Self (B1D)
Debbie FordDo you remember walking down the street feeling great in your body? Do you remember feeling strong, beautiful, and in touch with your feminine power? Sadly, we've come to believe that as we get older it's natural to lose touch with this radiant life force. We allow vital parts of ourselves to be hidden and suppressed, and instead we settle for feeling tired, weak, flabby, and old. Join Debbie Ford to reconnect with the seductive, beautiful, and desirable you. Take back your passion, vitality, attractiveness, magnetism, and allure. Please note: This workshop is for women only. Bring a journal and pen. CE credit available. |
Receiving Love: The Final Frontier (B1E)
Harville Hendrix, PhD, Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhDEvery couples therapist knows the frustration firsthand: when one partner finally starts doing what the other had longed for, the complaining partner begins to reject the very thing that he or she had previously requested. Why is this response common, and how can the therapist deal with it effectively? We explore this resistance to love, rooted in the childhood fear of retaliation for receiving what we've been told we wouldn't and shouldn't get. We learn Imago methods for teaching partners to accept each other's self-disclosures without judgment that can heal this unconscious form of self-hatred and open a new pathway to authentic connection. CE credit available. |
Qigong & Inner Alchemy: The Inner Elixir & the Practice of Pure Radiance (B1F)
Roger Jahnke, OMDQigong is not merely a technique; it is a way of life, the roots of which tap entire worlds—Taoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, traditional Chinese medicine, ancient quantum systems, and the transcendental realms. In this workshop, we explore simple tao yin (self-healing methods) qigong to use on your own and to share with family, friends, patients, clients, and colleagues. Health professionals, beginning students of traditional Chinese healing practices, and those who seek healing are welcome, as are experienced qigong, tai chi, and yoga practitioners. There is an additional offering of this workshop. See session C4H. CE credit available. |
Coming to Our Senses: Healing Ourselves & the World Through Mindfulness (B1G)
Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhDIn this workshop, Jon Kabat-Zinn introduces the practice and the healing potential of mindfulness as it relates to both personal aging and the maturation of the species. We explore how cultivating mindfulness in small and very practical ways can help us tap into and refine the innate wisdom of both the mind and the body and to draw on boundless reserves of energy as we age. This workshop is based on his work over the past 27 years in mindfulness-based stress reduction and on his recent book, Coming to Our Senses. We practice literally and metaphorically coming to our senses using our eyes, our ears, our nose, our tongue, our body, and our mind (considered the sixth sense in the Buddhist tradition). CE credit available. |

Creating Time: The Way to Being Ageless (B1J)
Stephan Rechtschaffen, MDAs time moves faster and our lives become more rushed and stressful, we lose our deeper connection with ourselves and others. As we age we fear we are losing time, so we rush even more, only to feel this loss more. In truth, we each have a remarkable ability to create more time. If we slow down to the rhythm of the soul, we experience grace, discover our fearless spirit, feel love, and attune to the fullness of each moment. This workshop, led by Stephan Rechtschaffen, physician and cofounder of Omega, shows us how to create time for an inner life, which can improve our health and well-being, and promote longevity and deeper satisfaction in our lives. CE credit available. |
Divine Intuition: Your Guide to Creating a Life You Love (B1K)
Lynn Robinson, MEd"You have an unwavering and reliable source of wisdom to guide your life," says Lynn Robinson. "It's called intuition." And helping you hear and interpret its messages is her mission. In this workshop, based on her best-selling books, Divine Intuition and Compass of the Soul, she demystifies the concept of intuition, shows you the wisdom of your "inner voice," teaches you how to read intuitive signs as they appear, and helps you effectively interpret the various forms of information you receive. The Seven Rhythms of Love (B2A)
Margot Anand Through spontaneous movement, dance, and group celebrations, we explore the different rhythms that emerge when we travel through our seven energy centers, or chakras. This journey inspires the dance between your inner masculine, active side and your inner feminine, receptive side. It is the metaphor of the lovers' journey. Awaken your joie de vivre and allow your "inner lover" to let go and experience harmony, spaciousness, and delight. Come to the party and celebrate. |

Uncovering the Aging Emotions (B2E)
Debbie FordYou've heard it somewhere: You can't heal what you cannot feel. When you look deeply into yourself, you may discover that you've been resisting (as well as avoiding and ignoring) the heavier, darker emotions that are an inherent part of life. Most of us don't recognize the enormous cost of denying these negative emotions embedded in the stories of our past—the regret, resentment, resignation, anger, rage, hopelessness, despair, and sorrow that take away our joy when ignored. In this workshop with Debbie Ford we begin to reveal and embrace these emotions as never before, and discover their gifts and begin to make peace with our past. CE credit available. |

It takes courage to look beyond our three-dimensional world and know that something greater exists. There is an additional offering of this workshop. See session C4L. |

The Marriage of the Future (C3F)
Harville Hendrix, PhD, Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhDThe institution of contemporary marriage is under siege, given a 50 percent divorce rate for the past 60 years. But the experience of marriage seems to remain a preference, given the remarriage rate of 90 percent of those who divorce. On the one hand there seems to be a breakdown; on the other, there appears to be a breakthrough. This workshop explores the idea that marriage is alive and well, and evolving into a new form that's replacing a personal, psychological marriage focused on the satisfaction of individual need with a partnership marriage that produces healing and evokes psychological and spiritual growth.
