Meditation imbalances in the energy system dramatically affect our emotional experience. Yin yoga postures harmonize the meridian system, allowing a balancing of disturbing emotions. The Buddhist path of awakening describes emotional maturity through the teachings on the “four immeasurables.” These are equanimity, loving-kindness, compassion, and sympathetic joy. During the yin practice Sarah Powers discusses these Buddhist themes and the practices that can be adopted into our yoga sessions to enhance living from these values. All levels. CE credit available.
