Parashakti

Parashakti Parashakti was born in Israel and moved to the United States to pursue her lifelong exploration of the healing arts of dance and ritual.

Descended from a long line of spiritual healers, she has received teachings from Swami Sachidananda, founder of Integral Yoga. As a certified yoga instructor, her yogic lifestyle led her to the study of Native American healing arts with the Shoshone and Lakota Indians. She studied TranceDance for three years with Shaman Wilbert Alix and for four years has been cofacilitating One World Spirit Dance in Arizona and Israel at the Tree of Life under Rebbe Gabriel Cousens, her teacher and mentor.

Inspired by the wisdom of her teachers, she developed a unique form of movement called the Dance of Liberation. Through the integration of shamanic rituals, shamanic journeying, hands-on healing, live drumming, global music, sweat lodges, and fasting, the Dance of Liberation heals and frees physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual blocks. She has worked with more than 10,000 dancers from around the world and leads workshops and retreats at some of the world’s leading holistic centers. She also facilitates major yoga and dance festivals worldwide.

Parashakti is cofounder and facilitator of the legendary Body Temple, one of the most famous and successful holistic rave events in New York City. She currently leads Liberation Lounge, a monthly ritual fusing dance, yoga, breath work, and contemporary shamanism, offered exclusively at the Jivamukti Yoga School. In her private practice as a SoulHealing practitioner, Parashakti has developed her own healing modalities that assist clients with various emotional issues and life threatening diseases.
