Noah benShea is one of North America’s most popular
and respected poet-philosophers. He is a scholar, thinker,
executive advisor, lecturer, and international best-selling
author who was, by age 23, assistant dean of students at
the University of California, Los Angeles, and, by age
30, a consulting fellow to a number of esteemed think tanks,
including The Center for the Humanities at the University
of Southern California and The Center for the Study of
Democratic Institutions in Santa Barbara. A public speaker
for more than 35 years, he has lectured at hundreds of
universities and countless other events, including an address
to the Library of Congress.
The author of 20 books translated into 18 languages with
global sales of more than 3 million copies, ben Shea’s
books continue a tradition begun with his Jacob the
Baker series, which has been embraced around the
world. He shares insightful perspectives on life through
a weekly column called Noah’s Window, available on

In 1999, benShea was nominated for the Grawemeyer Award
for Ideas That Improve the World. From 1997–2002,
benShea wrote a weekly essay for the New York Times Regional
Media Group. In 1997, his weekly essays were nominated
for a Pulitzer Prize. His inspirational thoughts have been

Noah benShea is the father of a daughter, Jordan, and
a son, Adam, both of whom are honor graduates of the University
of California. Born in Toronto, benShea lives in Santa
Barbara, California, with his wife Julia Mora, an Interior
Designer, and also resides part of each year in Italy.
