Dale Goldstein, LCSW

Dale Goldstein, LCSW Dale Goldstein, LCSW, is author of Heartwork: How To Get What You Really, REALLY Want. In addition to his private psychotherapy practice, Goldstein facilitates personal and spiritual growth workshops internationally. Since 1966, he has been actively exploring the uses of meditative, healing, and psychotherapeutic tools in the process of opening the heart and mind.

Goldstein attended the University of Michigan and Wayne State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, and a master of social work degree. In 1971, feeling a lack of depth in his life, he moved to Rochester, New York to practice Zen under the guidance of Roshi Philip Kapleau. In 1980, he changed to an inquiry and awareness meditative practice with Toni Packer, with whom he worked for eight more years. Since then, he has worked with various teachers, including Alia Johnson, a senior teacher in the Diamond Approach. He is currently in the Diamond Approach teacher training.

In 1977, Goldstein cofounded and directed the Rochester Center for the Healing Arts, a holistic health education and multidisciplinary treatment center. During this time, he trained in polarity therapy with Pierre Pannetier, and practiced and taught polarity therapy throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In 1981, he coalesced over 15 years of study, work, and personal practice into Heartwork—a gentle, deeply penetrating process that supports the growth and healing of the body, mind, and spirit of individuals and organizations—and became the cofounder and director of the Heartwork Institute, Inc. in Rochester, New York.
