Barbara Tannenbaum is president of Dynamic Communication
and senior lecturer in the Department of Theatre, Speech,
and Dance at Brown University, where she teaches courses
in public speaking and persuasive communication. She is
also a regular guest lecturer at Wellesley College and
Princeton University.
A sought-after keynote speaker, Tannenbaum combines both
academic foundations of persuasive communications and entertaining
stories about how the tools of effective presentation are
employed. Her skills as a teacher, lecturer, and seminar
leader have earned her an international clientele of doctors,
lawyers, state supreme and appellate court judges, elected
officials (including United States senators), and community
and organization leaders. After a series of successful
keynotes for the American Bar Association’s Council
of Chief Judges, she was named to their Speaker’s
Hall of Fame.
Tannenbaum has worked with senior executives for 20 years
to teach them how to communicate with power to maximize the
effectiveness of their communications. She has advised and
conducted public speaking workshops with the Third World
Transition Program and with the Women in Science and Engineering
group at Brown University. She also has worked with the Museum
of Fine Arts in Boston and with many other nationally prominent
nonprofit and for-profit organization, including Yahoo! and
Lehman Brothers.
