Judith Hendin, PhD, NMT
Judith Hendin, PhD, NMT, is the developer of Conscious Body and The Self Behind the Symptom, direct and dramatic methods for using the body and the voices within as a path of healing and transformation. The work of many teachers contributed to the development of Conscious Body and The Self Behind the Symptom. In particular, Hal and Sidra Stone's Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of Selves made sense of what was emerging from bodies, and the work of Judith Tamar Stone, creator of Body Dialogue, offered a way of speaking with the overall voice of the body.
Hendin has a bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Chicago, Phi Beta Kappa; holds a doctorate in somatic (body-mind) education from Summit University; and is a nationally certified somatic therapist. She is also a certified neuromuscular therapist with extensive training in deep tissue, St. John, Healing Touch, Mitzvah, Rehabilitative Body Therapy, and psyche-soma methods.
Hendin is currently on the teaching staff and has served on the national staff of author and visionary Shakti Gawain. She has also served on the staff of Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone, originators of Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of Selves, profound methods for speaking with the many parts within us. A senior Voice Dialogue facilitator, Hendin specializes in the energetics of these many parts and how they affect our bodies and every aspect of our lives. She has directed many Voice Dialogue and Conscious Body trainings in the United States and Canada, and has been presenting workshops for three decades. |
