Susan Woods, LICSW
Susan Woods, MSW, LICSW, has been a psychotherapist for more than 15 years and has been practicing meditation and yoga for more than 25 years. Before her career in psychotherapy, she worked as a physiotherapist specializing in orthopedics.
Woods has led mindfulness-based programs in both hospital and out-patient settings, and has trained health-care professionals in mindfulness-based approaches in a variety of educational settings since 1981. She was the consulting supervisor for a 5-year National Institute of Mental Health study led by Zindel Segal, comparing mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and antidepressant medication for preventing depression relapse.
Woods lives in Stowe, Vermont, where she teaches mindful yoga and meditation classes. She also develops programs to teach mindfulness-based approaches to professionals.
