Presented by The Women's Institute at Omega.
Wendy Sanford and Norma Meras Swenson—original coauthors of Our Bodies, Ourselves, the indispensable guide to women's health published by the Boston Women's Health Collective since 1970—are our expert guides in this workshop on women's health and sexuality for women of all ages.
To deepen our power and pleasure as sexual beings, we explore through guided meditation, artwork, and journaling; small group discussion; and presentations as we:
- weave together our own experiences of sexuality;
- gather information about women's sexual health and functioning; and
- critique social institutions that influence women's sexuality today.
We also enjoy visits from other long-time authors of Our Bodies, Ourselves.
This workshop is an excellent opportunity for teachers and health-care and mental health professionals who want to deepen their understanding of honoring all aspects of women's sexuality.
CE available. Special schedule. Limited enrollment; register early. Bring a journal or laptop computer and (optional) papers of different colors, designs, and textures for collage making. If you like, bring books or articles that have helped you understand and enjoy your sexuality.
Wendy Sanford, M.T.S., M.F.A., has been coauthor for 30 years of the "Sexuality," "Body Image," and "Women Loving Women" chapters in Our Bodies, Ourselves; and contributing author to Changing Bodies, Changing Lives.
Norma Meras Swenson, M.P.H., has been coauthor for 26 years of Our Bodies, Ourselves and is a contributing author to Ourselves Growing Older. She teaches women's health at the Harvard School of Public Health, and has worked with groups worldwide on sexuality issues. |
