Courage to Teach® is a unique retreat-based approach to renewing personal identity, professional integrity, and vocational vitality for educators. The program focuses neither on technique nor on school reform, but rather on renewing the inner lives of professionals in education.
Developed by educational activist Parker J. Palmer and colleagues across the country, this retreat is for K-12 teachers who are working to create classrooms and schools of community and hope. In our time together, we use large and small group settings, solitude, personal stories, and insights from poets, storytellers, and various wisdom traditions, to reflect on the challenge of sustaining ourselves and our most essential ideals amidst the challenges we face in the classroom each day.
No previous experience with Courage to Teach® is necessary. Please submit an application by calling 877.944.2002 Applications must be postmarked by August 1; applicants will be notified by August 26. Space is limited; apply early.
