Never has the pressure been greater on our species to evolve, and consequently to survive. This is a call to action.

"What are you doing in your community to make the world a better place?" asks Beryl Bender Birch. "If your yoga practice isn't cultivating peace and tolerance, and paying attention to grass roots environmentalism, population control, sustainable economy, and the effort to minimize suffering, and maximize freedom in the world, then, classically, it isn't truly practice (abhayasa), or the effort to be mindful and present."

Join Birch, a celebrated faculty member at Omega since 1985, for a week of intense practice in aware presence through asana, pranayama, meditation, and in-depth study of scripture and consciousness. Come together with like-minded souls to strengthen your personal practice and gain greater awareness of the power of community. "Carpe diem!" she says.

30 hours of accredited Yoga Alliance teacher training hours available. Extended hours. See the participant letter for more information (pdf format; must have Adobe Acrobat Reader).

Beryl Bender Birch has been a student of yoga since 1971 and has studied with many great teachers. She traveled extensively in India in 1974 and has been teaching yoga and yoga teachers for 32 years.
