Join renowned yoga master Sri Dharma Mittra for an exclusive 11-day teacher training that immerses and trains you in the life of a yogi to deepen your practice and enhance your teaching ability.
Each day begins with chanting, meditation, and pranayama practice led by Sri Dharma, followed by in-depth teachings on the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras, ethics, kriyas, subtle anatomy, chakras, nadis, koshas, gunas, yogic nutrition, vegetarianism, purification, psychic development, and the laws of karma.
Throughout the training, we learn the Levels I and II Dharma Mittra Yoga Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa Series. We are taught in small group teaching practicums, receiving feedback from personal mentors. We also take a daily master class with Sri Dharma based on the Shiva Namaskara Vinyasa Levels III and IV sequences.
Other daily teaching sessions include physical anatomy, adjusting, assisting, and form and alignment. Each day, our practice closes with a traditional satsang and live kirtan.
This training is designed for practitioners and teachers of all levels of yoga experience. Participants are fully supported to grow at their own pace by a caring staff of certified teachers and mentors, including Ismrittee Devi, Dr. Jeffrey Meyers, Lily Cushman, Eric Hubel, Jeremy Frindel, and Kim Jeblick.
This training is by application only. Applications must be submitted to the Dharma Yoga Center by August 7, 2009. Applicants will be notified within two weeks of submission. No refunds after July 30. Upon completion of this training, participants receive a manual and a Dharma Mittra Yoga completion certificate for 165 hours. An additional 40-hour internship is required to complete the 200-Hour Teacher Training Program with Yoga Alliance registration accreditation. For training prerequisites, please refer to application.
