Befriending the Body
Kelly McGonigal, PhD
Primarily Asana
General

Pain, stress, illness, and the ideals of our culture all tend to separate us from the experience of being at home in our bodies. Yet, when we befriend the body, healing of our body and mind begins. Yoga can help us find a way back to viewing our body as a welcoming and safe place to be, even when pain, stress, or illness are present. Kelly McGonigal teaches us simple yoga therapy practices for coming back home to our body. Together we practice gentle movement, breathing, meditation, and relaxation with an attitude of self-compassion and self-acceptance.
