Cancer and its treatment can devastate our life and our body, but gentle, restorative yoga can return us to center, reempower us, and reconnect our fractured mind, body, and spirit.

Led by cancer survivor and yoga teacher Susan Rosen and lifestyle educator and yoga teacher Barbara Isrow-Cohen, this workshop is a special opportunity for anyone recovering from cancer who wants to explore a wide range of healing practices.

Through yoga, stretching, guided meditation, simple breathing exercises, journaling, and interactive dialogue, we increase our well-being, release tightness our body is holding from surgery or radiation, and explore how our personal strengths and temperament impact our health and happiness. We also create a personal mandala to help us on our healing journey.

After attending this seminar, participants will be better able to:
  • describe how the practice of yoga can be of use to individuals recovering from cancer;
  • demonstrate at least 3 specific yoga exercises;
  • discuss how breathing exercises, journaling, and interactive dialogue can help deal with the consequences of surgery or radiation therapy; and
  • integrate the use of yoga and other healing practices into their own personal/professional work.
CE available.
