Each woman already possesses the perfect jewel of wholeness, yet we often focus on improving ourself or our circumstances in the hope of finally experiencing the elusive feelings of fulfillment and happiness.

Our efforts come from a tender longing to feel unconditionally loved. While our longing is authentic, it often leads us to seek ineffective strategies outside ourself while we overlook what is already complete, infinite, and delicately alive in us, what Annette Knopp calls our "presence-heart-awareness."

Through meditation, meditative inquiry, movement, and mythic play, we learn to trust our presence-heart-awareness as our ultimate ally, authority, refuge, and resource. As we learn to embrace the feminine in this way, our lives can effortlessly unfold from an authentic connection with ourself and others.

As a counselor and retreat leader, Annette Knopp draws from the timeless wisdom of Eastern contemplative traditions as well as modern Western integrative approaches. She is featured in Rita Marie Robinson's new book Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Wisdom: The Feminine Face of Awakening, and facilitates satsangs, workshops, and retreats in the United States and internationally. thefreeheart.com
