The importance of naturally aligned bones may be the single most overlooked factor relating to overall health and comfortable aging.

Every healthy baby learns to stand and walk by aligning along the same central axis that gives lifetime support to those seemingly extraordinary people who age into their 80s and 90s with extended spines, flexible joints, and boundless vitality.

We, too, can find this level of ease and comfort in our own bodies. Kathleen Porter, author of Ageless Spine, Lasting Health, helps us to re-build, from the ground up, the natural skeletal structure that allows our muscles to fully relax and end their struggle to hold us up.

We learn how to sit, stand, bend, walk, lift, carry, and sleep in wholly natural ways, and then apply these mechanics to all our daily activities, including how we exercise or practice yoga. Accumulated tensions buried in “default settings” begin to drop away as we develop tools for using the body to stay anchored in present time. This unfolding process guides us back “home” to genuine strength, easy flexibility, and quiet peace inside our skin.

Bring two pillows.
