LifeForce Yoga to Manage Your Mood

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

LifeForce Yoga is an evidence-based practice that interweaves ancient wisdom with current research in neurobiology to help us release emotional blocks and manage our mood.

Amy Weintraub, creator of LifeForce Yoga and author of Yoga for Depression, guides us through yogic strategies that help safely release chronically held tension and repressed emotion in the physical and emotional body. We practice:

  • Breathing techniques that regulate the emotions (pranayama and kriya)
  • Meditations that lift the mood
  • Affirmations (samkalpa)
  • Guided visualizations (bhavana)
  • Tones that regulate the emotions (mantras)
  • Yoga asanas suitable for all levels

We leave feeling refreshed and renewed, with ancient strategies to revitalize our practice and manage our mood. Health professionals and yoga teachers learn techniques they can use to help their clients focus, relax, and have greater access to their feelings.

Anyone at any level of yoga experience is invited.

Recommended reading: Weintraub, Yoga for Depression. Recommended practice support: Breathe to Beat the Blues (CD); LifeForce Yoga to Beat the Blues, Level 1 & Level 2 (DVDs). This workshop qualifies for continuing education credit with Yoga Alliance.
