The Art & Practice of Presencing

Human Purpose & the Field of the Future

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

Every profound change process, whether in a personal, organizational, or social setting, is the result of a journey that includes both tangible and intangible dimensions. Our activities and the outcomes or products of our journey exist for all to see. But our interior journey remains invisible to others, and often unrecognized even by us.

This workshop, based on the ground breaking books, Presence and Theory U by Peter Senge, Otto Scharmer, Joseph Jaworski, and Betty Sue Flowers, and on their extensive research and years of personal experience, is about understanding the process of the interior journey so that we can bring forth new realities more in line with our deepest aspirations.

The workshop is for people trying to bring about change in their own or their clients' personal lives, families, businesses, schools, communities, or larger social systems. Lecture, small group processes, and experiential exercises will be used to help participants:
  • describe ways of enhancing our ability for sensing, presencing, and realizing the future as it emerges both individually and collectively;
  • demonstrate daily, weekly, and even annual practices that enable us to become calm, observant, and focused;
  • discuss research evidence underlying the use of presencing;
  • discuss information on how the practices in this dynamically evolving field are being used in organizations and social structures all over the world; and
  • utilize resources for networking and continuing the practice of presencing in our own life and work.
