Rhinebeck Campus: Rhinebeck, NY (US)
Tuition: $400 (does not include accommodations or commuter fee) Member Tuition: $360
Course: SM08-2005-348

On the path of luminous shabda—sacred sound as light—we tap into the limitless energy within us by studying yoga in its own language of Sanskrit, generating a new level of awareness and clarity in our practice.

Guided by Sanskrit scholar and teacher Manorama, we awaken our heart and mind on our quest for knowledge as we learn and practice the Sanskrit alphabet, Sanskrit mantras, meditation, and yoga philosophy while exploring our own personal and spiritual life. We also:
  • Develop insight into the unique relationship that exists between breath and sound, and energy and consciousness
  • Learn proper tongue placement, which provides effective access to mantra pronunciation
  • Practice meditation and sound yoga to restore the mind to a natural state of tranquility and joy
  • Understand why Sanskrit sounds are energetically healing
  • Read and pronounce select mantras and asanas
  • Experience the harmonious circularity of sound
This workshop is appropriate for beginners, yoga teachers, and anyone interested in yoga philosophy.

Bring a notebook and wear loose, comfortable clothing. $36 materials fee; include when you register.
