Sharing Peace

A Thai Massage & Yin Yoga Retreat

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

The roots of both Thai massage and Yin Yoga are steeped in the ground of awakened presence. Their origins, although shrouded in ancient mystery, both resound with one constant message: Healing is inseparable from awakening to our true nature.

In this rejuvenating retreat, we create a sacred circle, placing aside our stories of how we think things are or should be and inviting deep acceptance and full opening to our own peaceful, compassionate nature.

Through the practice of Yin Yoga with Biff Mithoefer, we move toward stillness, creating the space for the seed of lovingkindness to be nourished within ourself. From this place of self-acceptance, Kaline Alayna Kelly guides us in the practice of sharing the dance-like, meditative, and joyful movements of Thai massage.

We learn through discussion and experience how the Taoist concepts that are the foundation of Yin Yoga intertwine with the Buddhist concepts that form the foundation of Thai massage, or nuad boran (“ancient healing touch”). We work with the Taoist meridians and Thai sen lines, feeling their flow of life-giving energy. By awakening this energy in others, and ourself, we share peace.

Biff Mithoefer is also teaching Yin Yoga July 6-11.

Kaline Alayna Kelly is a senior teacher and holds Master Certification in Asokanandas Sunshine Network of Thai Massage and Ayurvedic Bodywork in Thailand and New Zealand. She has lived and taught in a tribal community in Thailand over the past nine years and studied extensively with several Thai massage masters and indigenous healers.

Biff Mithoefer teaches workshops in Yin Yoga and storytelling in the United States and Costa Rica. He is the author of The Yin Yoga Kit: The Practice of Quiet Power. biffmithoeferyoga.com
