This workshop is about honoring our own voices, writing in our own rhythms and languages, and writing our own story.
Nancy Slonim Aronie says, "I can't teach writing (nobody can), but I can make a safe place and when people are safe, they take enormous risks. The writing gets more powerful, the heart goes deeper, and the words flow faster."
This workshop is about sounding like you really are, finally, being completely honest and reclaiming your original voice. It is about undoing the damage done in school where red pens and disciplined grammar taught students to mistrust their natural abilities as storytellers.
Warm, funny, and inspirational are words that have been used to describe Nancy Slonim Aronie, a distinguished writer and commentator for NPR's All Things Considered, and founder of the Chilmark Writing Workshop on Martha's Vineyard. She hosts a weekly interactive radio show on Lime Radio called Writing From the Heart Workshop. Aronie has taught writing for 25 years, most recently with Robert Coles at Harvard University. www.chilmarkwritingworkshop.com |
