Jack Kornfield, one of the leading Buddhist teachers in the West, and Stanislav Grof, a pioneer in the field of consciousness and the creator of Holotropic Breathwork, blend the richness of Buddhist practices of compassion and liberation with the experiential wisdom born out of modern consciousness research, to offer an extraordinary journey of renewal, healing, and transformation.
With sacred music, periods of silence, mandala drawing, and formal teachings, we explore the power and depth of breathwork and meditation. We use Holotropic Breathwork (holotropic is Greek for "moving toward wholeness") to enter a nonordinary state of consciousness that brings healing and insight. We practice Buddhist meditations of the breath and heart to touch the center of our being. This retreat is suitable for both new and experienced practitioners of meditation and breathwork, and is of interest to laypeople and mental health professionals alike.
CE available. Special schedule.

Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Stanislav Grof is a psychiatrist with more than 40 years of experience researching nonordinary states of consciousness. His books include The Holotropic Mind; The Human Encounter With Death (written with Joan Halifax); The Stormy Search for the Self (written with Christina Grof); and The Cosmic Mind.
One of the nation's foremost Buddhist meditation teachers, Jack Kornfield, Ph.D., was trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma, and India. He is a clinical psychologist, cofounder of the Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts, and founder of Spirit Rock Center in California. He is author, most recently, of The Art of Forgiveness, Lovingkindness, and Peace. |
