Offering an East-West approach to natural medicine, Brigitte Mars, celebrated herbalist and nutritional consultant, teaches everyone—from beginner to experienced herbalist—how to use herbs, raw food, and essential oils to improve common health conditions such as insomnia, fatigue, depression, low immunity, and addiction.

On walks around the Omega property, we embark on a wide-ranging exploration of edible and medicinal plants. We learn to identify and taste locally growing plants and come to understand how the flavors of plants correspond to their properties. We explore their physiological effects, constituents, energetics, historical and current medicinal uses, other common uses, natural range, contraindications, dosages, and many basic first aid applications.

We then get to put what we have learned into action by making several herbal and raw food preparations to achieve health, mitigate illness, and correct physiological imbalances.

Brigitte Mars is a renowned herbalist and nutritional consultant from Boulder, Colorado, who has been working with natural medicine for 37 years. A professional member of the American Herbalist Guild, she teaches herbal medicine at Naropa University, Esalen Institute, and Boulder College of Massage.
