Job Description:
The Media Works Department facilitates audio and visual recording in all Omega workshop venues; audio & video records many of the workshops, retails product to catalog participants; produces audio and video clips for web and other broadcast uses.
The Documentary Video Editor's primary responsibility is to deliver edited masters of various lengths, from 2 minutes through to 30 minute segments for web upload, marketing & promotion, and various broadcast uses. Most of the material will be 2-camera interviews intercut with b-roll of classroom activity, campus scenery, etc.
Candidate will also train Assistant Editors to capture, clip name & logging protocols, and synchronize all interview footage.
Editor works with production team and reports directly to Department Manager, who also doubles as Producer/Director/Editor.
Skills/Qualities required:
- All Video Editor candidates MUST have advanced knowledge and experience with all of the following software: Final Cut Studio Pro 5, Soundtrack Pro, Motion 2, DVD Studio Pro 4, Shake 4, LiveType, Compressor, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Breeze, and Macromedia Flash.
- Experience with any of the following is a big plus: Television, Film, Advertising, Documentary and/or Music Video editing.
- Candidate must be a good communicator, a team player, proactive and creative.
