Staff Programs
The People and Culture Department offers a selection of staff programs designed to awaken our inner being as well as promote mindfulness
and community service. These offerings include classes, gatherings, and special events.
Our Staff Programs are divided into 4 types of classes:
- Holistic Studies Program Classes (HSP) are generally a 2- or 3- hour class that does not require preregistration or any prerequisite. A typical selection of HSP classes for this season is likely to include:
- Belly dancing
- Yoga
- Tai chi
- Zen meditation
- Reiki first degree training
- Capeoria
- Drawing and visual arts classes
- Peace Quilt
- Chakra meditations
- Life Skills Workshops (LSW) are classes that meet twice a week over a 4-week period and require preregistration. These classes require a deep commitment and regular attendance from staff. A typical selection of LSW classes for this season might include:
- Reiki first & second degree training
- Kundalini Yoga
- Communing with music
- Astrology
- Zen and creativity
- Strategies for Conscious Living are full-day, or day-and a-half intensives, covering basic cohesive holistic themes and implementing the concept of service. These classes require preregistration and a full commitment to the entire duration of the intensive. Some potential offerings for this season might include:
- Vision quest
- Coaching
- Vedic palmistry
- Celtic shamanism
- Psychic development
- Full Season Guilds are ongoing classes that meet for a 3-hour session once a week and are open only to full-season staff. Preregistration is required and attendance is mandatory. These classes offer a depth and richness of experience that some may find to be life-changing. Enrollment in a Full Season Guild excludes one from taking LSW classes, as the dedication and commitment required is too much for one to be able to do both a Full Season Guild and a Life Skills Workshop. Full Season Guilds for this season will be:
- Peace Guild, a program devoted to creating peace in the world through spiritual work, which includes Reiki Master training.
Beyond our Staff Programs classes, we also have a number of
Special Events, including purification lodges, community dances, talent shows, arts and crafts fairs, and a weekly staff sanctuary hour, where we gather as a community and are gifted with a special guest each week who shares wisdom about their own spiritual journey. These speakers tend to be well-known Omega faculty, or cutting-edge visionaries in their field who are on campus as part of our Hermitage program.
