About Service Week
As part of our effort to help build a more compassionate and sustainable world, Omega has created a unique program, Omega In Service, which supports nonprofit organizations and foundations committed to improving the well-being of others and the life of the planet we share. Every year since 2005, we have awarded working retreat grants to nonprofit organizations—small and large, local and global—so that staff and board members can develop strategic plans for the future, cultivate leadership, deepen staff connection, discuss shared challenges, identify solutions, and enjoy some much-needed peace and relaxation.
Omega In Service grants cover the cost of a 3-day retreat on Omega’s campus and include accommodations, meals, a private meeting space, use of our facilities, and a free 1-hour consultation with our Service Week partner, the New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON), as part of a Nonprofit Wellness Clinic, to assist grantee organizations in further evaluating organization progress beyond traditional measurements. We offer this Service Week opportunity on our Rhinebeck campus every spring, and through a smaller number of grants during our regular Rhinebeck season (April to October).
Now in its 10th year, Service Week is comprised of two sessions: the Service Summit, which includes social service organizations from the Mid-Hudson Valley, and the Women Serving Women Summit, which focuses on groups that work to ensure the safety and well-being of young women and girls.
