During Week 5, choose one in-depth workshop to enjoy for the whole week. Discover special qigong empowerments to activate and harmonize energy for healing with Robert Peng (see below). Explore mindfulness-based stress reduction and how to apply it in your daily life with Melissa Blacker and Florence Meleo-Meyer. Or, delve into personal writing and tell your own story with Nancy Slonim Aronie. Steven Michael Pague also joins us this week to teach optional qigong classes and to host evening events and community gatherings.
As a boy, Robert Peng was trained in martial and healing arts by Buddhist monk Xiao Yao. As part of his training, Peng spent 100 days meditating and fasting in an underground chamber where Xiao Yao visited daily to teach advanced qigong practices. This week, Peng offers a distillation of this training to activate and harmonize energy. We practice Micro Cosmic Orbit, one of the most esoteric Taoist practices, along with Longevity Walking and other qigong movements, meditation, and breathwork—the same practices that Peng studied during his own training. We also experience group healing.
