Excursions

Nosara is located in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, in the northwestern part of the country. A laid-back beach community, Nosara, Costa Rica, has a strong expatriate presence that supports a number of local businesses, including some excellent restaurants. The town center, which is a few miles from the ocean, has a market, pharmacy, post office, police station, medical clinic, and bike and car rentals.

The four beaches in Nosara—Playa Nosara, Playa Guiones, Playa Pelada, and Playa Ostional—are part of the Ostional Wildlife Refuge. As such, there is very little development along the beach. Homes are tucked into hillsides thick with jungle, but they are not often visible from the beaches, which offer long stretches of sand for walking, jogging, and searching for shells.

When you are not in a workshop, you can explore the area through a number of excursions or activities, including:

• Surf lessons or paddle surfing
• Canopy and zip line tours
• Stand-up paddle surfing
• Sunset boat tour on Nosara River
• Horseback riding on the beach
• Birdwatching boat tour
• River rafting or kayaking expedition
• Boat trip on the ocean
• Horseback riding
• Waterfall hike

Details are available when you register for your learning vacation with Omega, but advanced reservations for excursions are not necessary. Check with Blue Spirit Retreat upon arrival for schedules and availability. These activities are not included in your package and require additional fees.
