Several years ago when the renowned Buddhist teacher Pema Chödrön was struggling with writing her third book, her teacher, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, gave her some advice: “Relax and write,” he said. Her book became a perennial best-seller because she did just that.
In this retreat, we do the same. Because when we “relax and write” we tap into the limitless sources with us—our intuition, creativity, and deeper knowing—that are the foundation of good writing and a fully realized life. Through writing, we can deepen our spiritual journey as we draw on and articulate thoughts that lie within our depths, often with surprising results.
Created by Maia Danziger, the Relax & Write™ method unlocks our unconscious and uses the rich material found there for developing our passion for writing and living. For both new or established writers, this retreat offers a safe setting so we can practice deep relaxation, guided meditation, sensory awareness, and also tap into the “observer self” to awaken the inner voice we’ve always wanted to hear, and put that voice to paper.
We return home with a method for writing that forges a repeatable path, a clear and easily accessible way to get deep writing done.
