Description

Whether guiding a family, working in an organization, writing a blog, running a business, or holding public office, leadership involves deciding what matters most. The nature of leadership is changing. The old “command and control” model is giving way to “connect and collaborate,” and women are playing a central role in this important shift.

This inaugural Women’s Leadership Intensive, a program of the Omega Women’s Leadership Center, is for women who want to use their leadership to create a caring, just, and sustainable future for everybody. Through reflection, writing, dialogue, yoga, meditation, and exploring nature, we delve into our leadership stories, learn from each other, and create a shared understanding of what is needed now to bring greater consciousness into the world.

Together we explore the historical and global context of women’s lives and gain insight into how to balance feminine and masculine qualities as a leader. We practice skills for using “power with” others rather than “power over” others, and tap the deep wisdom of body, heart, spirit, mind, and nature. We also discover the importance of self-reflection and self-care for effective leadership.

In an intimate setting, guided by expert teachers, we focus on four women’s leadership essentials:

  • Values: Identify, dignify, and prioritize your own core values unbound by the existing paradigms of power and leadership
  • Voice: Strengthen your authentic voice free from the self-doubt and “need to please” that often undermine women’s actions
  • Vision: Create a clear, compelling, sustainable, and actionable vision for your specific leadership goals
  • Voyage: Plan the key contours of your leadership voyage over the next year to put your values into action, elevate your leadership voice, and advance your vision for creating positive change

Whether you are a seasoned leader or just beginning your leadership journey, this women’s leadership intensive can help you be the courageous, wise, and nurturing leader the world needs today.
