Buddha Body Yoga is ideal for those who have felt intimidated by yoga classes in the past, and for yoga teachers who want to safely and effectively help clients of different abilities, shapes, and sizes.

Michael Hayes developed Buddha Body Yoga to help everyone enjoy increased flexibility, mental clarity, and better health. This practice is welcoming and accessible to the timid, the overweight, the injured, and the differently abled. Buddha Body Yoga focuses on the basics: connecting with your body, feeling comfortable in daily motion, understanding anatomy, finding a healthy posture, and learning to breathe freely.

Buddha Body Yoga helps improve alignment, tone muscles, and address physical and psychological blocks to well-being. Using supportive gear (bolsters, pillows, blocks, belts, ropes, and physioballs), Michael Hayes adapts standard yoga poses so that people of all sizes and shapes can successfully practice yoga.

Michael Hayes

Michael Hayes, proud owner of a large and beautiful “Buddha Body” himself, has yoga certifications in Sivananda Yoga, Allison West’s Yoga Union, and Yoga Therapy by Dan Olansky. He has studied extensively in Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Thai Yoga, Om Vinyasa Yoga, and Yoga Anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff. He is a licensed massage therapist specializing in treating professional dancers, a student and teacher of martial arts, a visual artist, and a performer of African and modern dance. buddhabodyoga.com
