Design by Nature
A Conference on Sustainable Design for a New Earth
October 19–21, 2012
Responding to the challenges of our time calls for creative new ways of observing, planning, designing, and collaborating. Omega’s annual sustainable design conference explores the principles of nature-based, whole systems thinking and innovative planning strategies.
Bringing together extraordinary leaders in the field, we review the current state of our economic, environmental, and social systems and together explore creative solutions.
Omega’s own campus planning process provides us with positive examples of whole systems thinking and new green technologies, including the Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL), “America’s greenest building,” and an Eco-Machine water treatment installation that is certified for both the Living Building Challenge™ and LEED® Platinum status.
Whether you are a green builder, architect, educator, activist, student, or business leader, this conference is designed for anyone interested in learning about information and developments important to building a sustainable future.
Featuring: Janine Benyus, Van Jones, Jeremy Rifkin, Dickson Despommier, Bob Berkebile, Natalie Jeremijenko, Nick Bowden, Sobonfu Somé, and Robert "Skip" Backus. Teachers are subject to change. Please note: Jeremy Rifkin's talk on Friday night will be delivered via Skype.
