Grow Food Everywhere

For Health & Transformation

Ricky Baruc and Deb Habib, EdD
July 11–13
Course 2902-863/Tuition $100 for ELIP Students (Call 877.944.2002 for more information)

Is there anything more important to health and survival than what you eat? In a world plagued by social ills, disease, and hunger, we all can play a role in transforming our lives and communities toward greater health and abundance with fresh, local food. Take back the power and learn to grow your own food everywhere—from lawns and windowsills to schools and urban lots.

This weekend, through discussion, contemplative practice, and plenty of hands-on experience, we gain skills and techniques to establish gardens and grow abundant, delicious food as nature intended, with minimal labor and energy.

Guided by farmers Ricky Baruc and Deb Habib, we create beautiful gardens and raised beds, and learn season-extension practices that prepare us to take the lessons learned immediately into our lives and communities.

Those new to gardening return home with enough knowledge and skill to grow their own food. Experienced gardeners learn new techniques to enrich their current gardens. We all gain ideas, methods, and inspiration to transform our gardening, communities, and lives.

Ricky Baruc and Deb Habib, EdD, are founders of Seeds of Solidarity, a visionary solar-powered farm and education center in Massachusetts that provides people of all ages with the inspiration and practical tools to use renewable energy and grow food in their own communities. Through their education programs at Seeds of Solidarity, Baruc and Habib frequently share their 30 years’ of real-life experience growing food and how they took the plunge—off the grid, onto the land, and into their hearts—while building a resilient community and a thriving relationship. seedsofsolidarity.org - See more at: http://www.eomega.org/workshops/grow-food-everywhere#-workshop-descripti...
