Description

Military women and women veterans experience enormous challenges. Significant combat stress and trauma can cause anxiety, depression, homelessness, unemployment, and substance abuse. With the current epidemic of sexual assault in the military, the wounds of war often run deeper and longer for military women and women veterans.

This women-only retreat for the military-veteran community (active duty, reserve, guard, and all branches of the uniformed services) builds a safe and healing environment to explore facing and releasing traumatic stress and increasing resilience.

Led by three experienced healers and veterans advocates—Col. (ret) Pat Lillis, Maj. Susan Lynch, and Col. Alison Ward—as well as guest teachers Marta Szabo (Authentic Writing instructor) and Gloria Mann (acting and yoga teacher), we explore a variety of healing modalities, including group dialogue, meditation, yoga, journaling, and empowerment skill-building training, to nurture our minds, bodies, and spirits in the face of past and present trauma. We return home refreshed and with tools to continue our healing journey.

This program is underwritten and open to all active or inactive duty military women and women veterans. The participant is responsible for $75 of the tuition, room, and board.
