Responding to the challenges of gluten-free eating calls for creating a new lifestyle and a new diet. Celiac expert dietitian and author, Melinda Dennis, and leading gourmet chef and author, Leslie Cerier, will show you how to do just that.

Gluten-free eating offers more variety and nutrition than you ever imagined. Through presentations, question-and-answer sessions, discussion, and hands-on cooking, you learn how to take control of your nutrition and health.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be better able to: 


  • Discuss key health issues of celiac disease and gluten sensitivity 
  • Describe testing and diagnostic procedures for celiac disease and gluten intolerance
  • Help patients become skilled in easy gluten-free menu planning and recipe make-overs focusing on gluten-free grains
  • Summarize information about vitamin and mineral supplements
  • Teach patients how to read labels and what to look for when eating out

This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to learn the basics of gluten-free eating, as well as health-care practitioners seeking a solid introduction to the gluten-free lifestyle.

We are thrilled that you are coming to the gluten free workshop: I'm Going Gluten-Free: Everything You Need to Know at the Omega Institute.

Of course, all of the dishes that we prepare together in class will be gluten free. Most will also be lactose/dairy free. However, it would be very helpful if we knew about the food restrictions of our participants.

Please let us know if you have any food allergies or significant food intolerances, such as nuts, seeds, soy, eggs, etc. We will do our best to accommodate you as much as possible as we finalize the recipes for your workshop. Please email me immediately at: mdennis@bidmc.harvard.edu.
