Lighten Up & Dive Deep

A Joyful Week of Yoga & Meditation

June 20, 2014 – June 27, 2014
Rhinebeck, NY
Beryl Bender Birch
SM14-2307-761Beryl Bender Birch,

We are no longer taking online registrations for this workshop.

Deepen your practice and join a community of friends and students to celebrate Beryl Bender Birch’s 30th year of teaching at Omega! One of the most respected Western yoga teachers, Birch offers teachings that penetrate the subtle facets of this ancient tradition and have helped thousands of students become happier, healthier yogis.

This 7-day retreat is a joyful and insightful exploration into the deeper dimension of yoga. Through daily asana and pranayama—from the relaxing to the strong and sweaty—you develop your practice and work at your own level. In lively discussion with bright, like-minded practitioners, we delve into the deeper dimensions of yoga philosophy.

Soar to the outer edges of your spiritual potential and experience the true meaning of yoga itself: unlimited connectedness with all beings. Release negative energy through outdoor fire ceremonies and rituals, and enjoy evening showings of cutting-edge documentaries.

Practitioners of all levels of experience are welcome to join the tribe of “spiritual revolutionaries”—an expanding field of dedicated yogis leading the way toward a global shift in consciousness.

This program offers 51.5 hours toward certification with The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute; see

Participants are required to attend ALL sessions in order to receive credit for the 51.5 hours of training.  Participants will only be credited with the number of hours they actually attend.

Please keep in mind before you come:

It is so important to make sure that all your yoga-wear has been washed in unscented laundry detergent.  Many students are allergic to or sickened by the smell of synthetic fragrance in commercial detergents.  Also, no synthetic scents in class - includes lotion, shampoo, deodorant, etc.  Clean has no smell!

Things to Bring:
  • Mala beads – if you have them, take them – if not, don’t worry, not necessary
  • Rattles, drums, tambourines or other percussion instruments
  • Favorite translation of the Yoga Sutra
  • Colorful wrap, shawl, or robe for meditation and rituals
  • Festive wear for closing fire ceremony
  • Personal totem or talisman-type item, with special meaning for you but one that you would be willing to burn or give way for the Celebrate Impermanence ceremony
  • Small amount of unscented laundry detergent to wash out clothes during the week (if you want to travel light)
  • Yoga mat (mats available if you are flying in and don’t want to carry)
  • Flashlight and raincoat or umbrella – afternoon thunderstorms!
