We are no longer taking online registrations for this workshop.

Most of us are familiar with our body’s responses when under stress: neck and shoulder tension, back pain, nervous stomach, insomnia, overeating, shallow breathing, and headaches. Getting to know and respond to your body’s sensations—from the obvious to the more subtle—can help you lead a life of greater resilience and reduced stress.

In this workshop with Cindy Dern, you learn to pause and listen, and regain the vital connection of living in partnership with your body. You gain skills to:

  • Relax and settle your nervous system
  • Enhance motivation for positive self-care, including diet, exercise, sleep, and spirituality
  • Bring mindfulness, movement, and conscious breathing tools into your life
  • Build your capacity to respond, not react, to emotions
  • Trust your body’s wisdom on a more regular basis

Anyone who wants to live more fully in their body, with greater vitality in their life, can benefit. Mental health professionals and holistic practitioners can gain powerful tools to help their clients.

Upon completion, participants will better be able to:

  • Identify symptoms of stress and how they manifest in the body
  • Create a self-care plan to optimize the role of diet, exercise and sleep
  • Identify three benefits of listening to ones's body on a regular basis
  • Distinguish the difference between “being in our head vs. being in our body”
  • Apply skills to improve eating habits and enhance body image
  • Utilize techniques including breathing tools, guided imagery and movement
  • Examine the role of emotions in the mind-body relationship
  • Describe importance of mindfulness to improve physical and mental health
