With all of life’s busyness, it can be hard for mothers and daughters to slow down and spend time with each other. Our girls are growing up so fast, and just when we think we know who they are, they change and mature some more.
This mother-daughter yoga retreat, recommended for daughters between 8 and 16 years old and led by mother and daughter team Jamine Ackert and Remmy Ackert-Fraser, is a perfect time to be with our daughters and appreciate them as they are now. During the weekend we have the chance to practice individual yoga poses, meditation, and relaxation exercises next to our daughters—and them next to us—and play with them in fun partner yoga poses.
We leave the retreat with practices we can do alone and together at home.
No yoga experience is necessary.
For daughters ages 8–16.
Jamine Ackert has been a yoga teacher since 1992. She teaches hundreds of people each year, including classes at the Canadian Police College, where she teaches yoga and stress reduction. Yogacapitalyoga.com facebook.com/MotherDaughterYoga
Remmy Ackert-Fraser, a 9th grader, has been doing yoga most of her life. Both her parents are yoga teachers, and her mother, Jamine, developed mother-daughter yoga in 2008 as a way to introduce Remi to teaching yoga.
