3, 2, 1—action! Kids, use your imaginations as you write, direct, shoot and edit your own videos, using stop motion animation—the near magic technique that produced films like Wallace & Gromit, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and ParaNorman.
Working in teams, you write your own scripts, create storyboards, and design characters and sets before you shoot, edit, and add music and sound effects to your short films.
Using clay, paper, toys, found objects, and more, you bring items to life with expert guidance from RoboFun professionals. Learn how to tell stories with clear narrative arcs, compose thoughtful shots, and work with external web cams and animation software. At the end of the week, debut your creations for family and friends at an evening screening.
Throughout the workshop, you watch and critique a bunch of stop-motion films, made by kids and professionals, to learn even more about filmmaking techniques.
