Description

One of Carl Big Heart’s Native American elders and teachers once said to him: “The wolves of greed are snapping at our heals. The ending is uncertain. It is in the balance. Now is the time for all willing souls to step forward with unconditional love.”

In the circle gathering Standing on Holy Ground, we come together in ceremony, including the sweat lodge, to establish a deeper connection with the receptive and responsive universe. We embrace our humanity in conscious and loving ways as we seek to:

  • Become an open doorway for blessings to move through us into our world
  • Hold sacred space with consistency and less contradiction
  • Learn to function in creation’s unfolding awareness
  • Bless and benefit the future generations of all beings

We discover that, wherever we are, we are standing on holy ground and we are messengers of love’s purposes. “The central focus of our work now is to further a fundamental shift of our being, bringing us into increasingly closer alignment with our living, conscious Earth Mother,” says Big Heart.

More Information

Dear Friends,

I want to thank you and to express the deep humility I feel for this opportunity we have to join in service -- to the Earth, Great Spirit, one another and ourselves.

The Great Mystery will move within, among and through us. Of this, there is no question. It would be a good thing -- as time draws near -- to begin to establish this expectancy, this alignment within ourselves; and to prepare ourselves to receive healing of heart, mind and body.

At the center of the transformative work we do together is the sweat lodge, an ancient ceremony of purification. Saturday afternoon we will participate in this sacred ceremony. I am in a constant state of wonder at how each lodge unfolds; how specific it is for each person and simultaneously, for the group as a whole. It is not imperative that you enter the sweat lodge to participate in the ceremony. Sitting beside the fire outside is a place for prayer and is connected to the whole. The lodge will be introduced with time for questions before the ceremony begins.

I recommend that you set you intentions for the weekend before you arrive. Contemplate the movement you would like to make in your lives, and would like to see make in the world. We will carry blessings with us when we return home and step into lives renewed.

This course is not solely oriented to Native American teachings, but is eclectic, aiming toward increased awakening of Spirit within. My heart is filled with gladness and anticipation in the knowing we will meet soon.

May Great Spirit's Love surround you and inundate you in all ways, for always.

May you walk in beauty,

Carl
