Arshi Saleem Hashmi

Arshi Saleem Hashmi, senior research analyst at the Institute of Regional Studies in Islamabad, Pakistan, specializes in religion and politics of violent conflicts with special emphasis on South Asia. An adjunct assistant professor at the National Defense University (NDU), Islamabad, she also is a member of Women in International Security (WIIS) and the United States Institute of Peace Alumni Association.

Prior to her work at Institute of Regional Studies, Arshi Saleem Hashmi has worked as a researcher in Washington, D.C., with the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, and the Middle East Institute. She has published widely and is author of Conflict Transformation From Ethnic Movement to Terrorist Movement.
