A yoga teacher for 20 years, Koerner took her first yoga class in 1988 to help her heal from back surgery. In an interview on iyogalife.com she says: “Yoga has helped me through many life changes that would have been otherwise very stressful: Surgery, marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage, many moves, as well as the deaths and illnesses of close friends and relatives. No matter how I felt there was always a practice that made me feel better and that met me where I was in that moment.”
Jean Koerner also studies restorative yoga with Judith Lasater, Bodytuning™ with Glenn Black, and ISHTA Marma Therapy with Alan Finger. She is also a student of the Alexander Technique.
