Jeanny Tsai

Jeanny Tsai is a photographer, filmmaker, storyteller, and a lover of life. She keeps one foot in New York City and the rest of her belongs to the world. With a passion for photographing people and cultures to express their devotion to the divine through rituals and celebrations in different forms, she specializes in travel and ethnographic photography. She also produces documentaries and programs for television and has worked as a director/producer and director of photography for major networks, including National Geographic, National Geographic Wild, Discovery, MTV, TLC, We TV, Oxygen, Logo, Showtime, and A&E.

Her work has appeared in magazines and is in private collections. Jeanny Tsai recently published her first fine art photography book, Retratos do Recôncavo, which was shot entirely in Bahia, Brazil. The book contains portraits of prominent women of the region who are healers and priestesses, residents of all ages, landscapes, and still lifes.
