Jenny Hadfield

Jenny Hadfield, author of Running for Mortals and Marathoning for Mortals, has been coaching runners for more than 20 years.

Her running journey began with not being able to make it to the end of her own block. With support from friends and a mindfulness-based running plan, Hadfield tapped into her inner runner and went from a chubby woman who hated to run to a leaner, more confident woman who conquered her challenges. Crossing the finish line of her first 5K changed her life forever.

Since that fateful day, she has competed in running and adventure races all over the world including the Eco-Challenge, the Boston Marathon, the Antarctica Marathon, Rim-to-Rim in the Grand Canyon, and the Inca Trail Marathon.

She touches thousands of readers that span the globe in her weekly column on runnersworld.com, and has been featured in Women’s Health, Prevention, Cooking Light, Outside, Forbes, and Fitness. Hadfield has a bachelor’s degree in education and health, and a master’s in exercise science.

After building several successful running and multi-sport training companies, she has returned to what she loves most: coaching, writing and creating life-changing active adventures. With her real-life advice, Hadfield inspires people to believe they can achieve amazing things and then guides, supports, and encourages them right down to the finish line.
