Laurel Mellin, MA, RD, is founder of emotional brain training (EBT), an evidence-based behavior therapy that trains people to rewire their emotional brain to alleviate stress and promote high-levels of well-being. An associate professor of family and community medicine and pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, she also directs the Institute for Health Solutions, a nonprofit organization that certifies health professionals in the clinical application of emotional brain training. Mellin has conducted more than 200 workshops in EBT for health professionals nationwide.
Laurel Mellin has been involved in a variety of research and teaching roles and has received awards from the American Medical Association, the American Bariatric Society, and the U.S. Department of Consumer Education. Her emotional brain training research has been featured in Fortune, U.S. News & World Report, and Time, and has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, Today, and The Early Show. She is author of several books, including Wired for Joy and the New York Times best seller The Pathway.
