Laurel Parnell

Laurel Parnell, PhD, is an internationally recognized clinical psychologist, author, and consultant, and trains professionals in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). She is the author of four books, including A Therapist's Guide to EMDR: Tools and Techniques for Successful Treatment; Transforming Trauma: EMDR; EMDR in the Treatment of Adults Abused as Children, and Tapping In: A Step-by-Step Guide to Activating Your Healing Resources Through Bilateral Stimulation, as well as articles and a chapter in The EMDR Casebook, and has been interviewed for television, radio, and print.

Parnell has trained thousands of clinicians in EMDR both nationally and internationally. She has taught at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and was on the core faculty at John F. Kennedy University. A meditation practitioner for more than 30 years, she teaches EMDR from an integral perspective. She maintains a private practice in San Rafael, California.
